Preity- Even the kids will love JAAN-E-MANN
And with Akshay being the Diwali / Idd specialist with back to back hits like AITRAAZ in 2004, followed by GARAM MASALA in 2005, JAAN-E-MANN seems to be heading for a hat-trick of Diwali / Idd hits in his repertoire. "The Diwali / Idd festival season is very apt for family entertainers to be released, wherein the whole family would love to see the film together. And that makes JAAN-E-MANN a very apt film for Diwali / Idd release," says Sajid Nadiadwala.
"I have this great gut feeling on JAAN-E-MANN. Leave alone the romance even the kids will love it. It's a film with clean humour. JAAN-E-MANN is a film you will see it over 100 times and still enjoy it," adds Preity.
Seems like 'Mr.Block-buster' of Bollywood surely has his pulse on his audience.
JAAN-E-MANN is slated to be released on Oct 20th and the advance booking Opens Today in Cinema all across!

Jaan-e-Mann will be enjoyed by a 4 year to a 104 year old - Preity Zinta
Additionally it is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala who has had a consistent strings of blockbusters starting with 'Waqt Hamara Hain', 'Jeet' , 'Judwaa', 'Har Dil Jo Pyaar Kareega' and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'.
At the Box–Office, the film already seems to be a winner, even before its release. How bullish is the film trade about 'Jaan-e-Mann' can be gauged from the fact it has broken all records for the distribution rights of the various territories.
That the film has got record breaking offers right under the nose of over-rated films that were tom-tommed at the beginning of the year speaks volumes on the confidence of the trade in the film.
'Jaan-e-Mann' is a 35 crore film and Sajid Nadiadwala invested the amount only in a 2 minute narration by Farah Khan at a party because he was so impressed & kicked by the idea.
The much awaited musical block-buster 'Jaan-E-Mann' is a romantic musical love story based in New York and has been showcased like a Broadway musical with the story told in an unusual manner by the very talented debutant director Shirish Kundar.
Says Sajid Nadiadwala, "People will be pleasantly surprised when they see Shirish's film. It is a visual delight, the emotions are right. It has a very unique method of story telling and it is a romantic musical which the audience prefers in the festival season."
'Jaan-E-Mann' has become such a hot proposition that Sajid Nadiadwala has got the best theaters and record breaking theater chain. In fact it's a record of sorts that the distributors have got 250 plus screen in the Mumbai territory alone.
It also proves the confidence level in the distribution fraternity regarding the quality entertainers from the Nadiadwala Grandsons banner. Even the eye grabbing trailer of 'Jaan-e-Mann' created quite an impact in the minds of the audience. The slick and innovative promo cost the producer a cool 40 lakh. Says Sajid "I didn't mind spending 40 lakh on the promo of 'Jaan-e-Mann', because Big things need Big money. A quality product has to be marketed well. That is my commitment and belief in the film!"
The music of 'Jaan-e-Mann' is already scorching the musical charts and has brought back melody in the fore, a welcome relief from the cacophony dished out lately. Anu Malik has given a musical score that flows into the narration of the script and are 'story songs' that takes the film forward. It's sure to be a benchmark in his career. Farah Khan, considered as the Sachin Tendulkar of choreography, has given her best and promises that the film would be a visual delight.
Shirish considers that Salman has given his best performance of his career. Also as per him Akshay Kumar has shown unimaginable depth in a difficult role while Preity is natural as ever.
The excitement factor of 'Jaan-e-Mann' is its innovative story telling technique and visual treatment backed by a very dependable banner known for churning out block-busters. Additionally superstars - Salman, Akshay and Preity - are riding high in the box office meter and the popularity that cuts across the multiplex audience, B & C centers and the Overseas market.
As Priety Zinta rightly puts it across "'Jaan-e-Mann' is a universal Entertainer. It will be enjoyed by a 4 year old to a 104 year old"
Perhaps with all the right ingredients, 'Jaan-e-Mann' might just become this Diwali/Idd record box office smash!

Preity and Salman's New York excursions
Preity is one Bollywood actress who has literally been living out of suitcase. Although she has shot her movies in many foreign locations (Australia, UK) but she has shot the most in New York. Karan Johar’s film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was her last project in the Big Apple before ‘Jaaneman’.
So while shooting the film in New York recently, Preity showed the movie’s main star Salman Khan around the city. There were also times when director Shirish Kunder and producer Sajid Nadiadwala accompanied the two.
So which places did they visit?
Because most of them had already seen major landmark sites in the city, Preity took Salman and others to lesser-known exotic places.
For instance, they went to Sylvia’s Soul Food eatery in Harlem, which is known for its chicken dishes.
Reports also suggest that Salman and Preity went to Fulton Fish Market, which is considered 170-year-old market in NY.
They also went for evening drives and window-shopping.
The shooting of ‘Jaaneman’ is complete. The film is set for release on the Diwali/Eid weekend.

Priety Zinta trips for ‘Jaanemann’
She was referring to the time when she fell during the shoot in central park for Jaan-e-maan. It took her 5 minutes to realize that choreographer Farah Khan had tripped her. Farah playfully teased her “Priety has fallen; the film will be a hit. Everyone joined in the chorus “The film is going to be a hit.”
If only superstition could define success….Weird are the ways of Bollywood.

I am a bit of an idiot: Preity Zinta
"But I'm very much around, in London shooting for Shaad Ali's Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom," Preity voice tinkles across the seven seas in reassuring waves.
"You see I'm a bit of an idiot. I never take that crucial pause after a release to savour its success. I'm told KANK has raised quite a storm in India. Well, good that's what movies should do. I don't understand why some people feel Karan Johar has gone too far.
Arrey! People say, make something different. And when a filmmaker actually takes the plunge into a deeper end, people accuse him of going too far. Personally I feel proud to be in a film that pushes the envelope in mainstream cinema.
I want to hug Karan for making KANK. In fact I'll get my chance to do so in the next twenty-four hours because Karan is coming to London."
Crib about the limited space provided for Preity in KANK and she retorts, "Abhishek and I are like the anchors in the plot. I was never more scared of a role. A little bit this or that way, and my character could've toppled over.
Thank God Rhea doesn't comes across as a bitch. I constantly kept looking at Karan for reassurance. I never had to be directed so closely before. 'I don't want Preity Zinta. I want Rhea Saran,' Karan kept saying…
As for the footage, hey… we don't really live in those times any more when actors measured the length of each other's roles with measuring tapes, do we? Cinema has grown up. So have actors. KANK is proof of it."
All of Bollywood seems to have descended on London. Last month it was the combined units of Priyadarshan's Bhaagam Bhaag and Vipul Shah's Namaste London turning London into a mini-Bollywood. Now it's Nikhil Advani's Salaam-e-Ishq and Shaad Ali's Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom creating a dhoom in the city.
Preity agrees. "Indeed, you can't step out on the street here without bumping into one or the other of your colleague. I've been shooting with Shaad for two weeks. We call him Fidel on the sets. Why? Because with his beard he looks like the young Fidel Castro. Ha ha.
Abhishek has just arrived. And Bobby (Deol) was here. It was good to catch up with him after so long. We had a great time during Soldier. Bobby remains the same. Quiet and wise."
Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom is Preity's first film with Shaad. "He's so quiet and yet so much in-charge on the sets. I've never had so much fun on location… But then come to think of it, I always make sure I've fun."
Preity has always been part of progressive cinema. Her first film Kya Kehna was about unwed motherhood. Now KANK is about the cult of crumbling matrimony. "Yeah, I like being part of cinema that goes beyond stereotypes. Even my next release Jaan-e-Mann isn't quite the normal film."
How does she intend to stop the bizarre rumours about her so-called disappearance?
"Just because I'm so much out of the country, people feel free to say and write what they like. I wish I was at home so I could see what was going on. But then I'm just a paid slave. No time to savour the fruits of my job," she sighs dramatically.
And then Preity Zinta chuckle.

'Something fishy about Preity eyes'
No doubt she looks fantastic in the film but according to critics she looks too old for her role.
One can notice the flawed area around Preity’s eyes and some gossipmongers allege thats it is the bruise she received after her recent eye-lift. Her buddy Karan Johar was unable to delay the film and hence she had to shoot for her role in the film before she had fully recovered from her eye-lift surgery.
But Preity has learnt to live with such allegations.
In London till late September for the shooting of Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, the dimpled beauty talked to press, about her image, her winning ways, and her attitude. She said she wanted to be remembered as a great performer, rather than as a star.
She says that she was pretty happy to do one film at a time, since acting for her has been a gratifyingly creative experience, and she wanted to keep it that way.
“Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is a film that a four-year-old and a 104-year-old can watch. I have seen it in different pieces and I am very proud of it. It’s a completely entertaining film but you have to watch without leaving your brains behind.”
Preity says that she can’t help it that she has been saddled with the image of a flitting and bubbly character. She said Bubbly is just a part of her. “There is much more to me in my performances and personality on celluloid than that bubbly thing”.
Elaborating on Jaan-e-man, she said: “It is a romantic comedy. It has a beautiful love story, beautiful emotions, it’s very, very funny.”
When asked as to how it felt to work with Salman, she gushed that she was really happy to do so. Talking about her other star in Jaan-e-man, she said, “Akshay and I worked together after a very long time too.
We worked together in Sangharsh. They both are very, very nice guys, very professional and I have a very good relationship with them.”

Preity Zinta
She’s the Liril girl with the dimpled smile. The Zinta with the zing. As fresh as the soap she endorsed and as perky-looking as the Perk she modelled for.
She’s hails from the north but presently has made aamchi Mumbai her home. Her debut film ‘Dil Se’ has hit the big screen already while her next releases are Soldier with Bobby Deol, Kya Yehi Pyar Hai with Chandrachur Singh and an untitled Telugu film with Venkatesh.
She’s also been pencilled in to work in Shekhar Kapur’s Tara Rum Pum Pum. Wanna know more about her? Here she is talking about herself.
I’ve always been a people’s person. Perhaps that’s why before gravitating towards films, I graduated in psychology.
Now I interact daily with so many individuals of different temperaments. It’s fascinating to watch their strengths and weaknesses.
Actually, I flipped a coin to decide whether I should ever think about acting. I had toodled along with some friends to the Taj Mahal Hotel for the audition of Shekhar Kapur’s Tara Rum Pum Pum. Shekhar asked me to react to the camera. Boy! was I intimidated, I didn’t know what had hit me. I mumbled incoherently. But somehow I was okay as soon as the camera was switched on. I was in a world of my own.
God knows when Shekhar Kapur will make Tara Rum Pum Pum. Now I believe, he’s on to his next film on Nelson Mandela. But I live on hope.
The lows have been the unnecessary controversies and link-ups. I mean one paper wrote that I was having an affair with Ajay Jadeja, if you please. Then I was linked with Chandrachur Singh. It’s crazy. I know Ajay and Rocky ever since I can remember. They are like my buddies.
Recently someone asked me if I’m seeing the trainer of the Indian cricket team. I mean, Andy’s a friend. He’ll probably die of embarrassment if he ever finds out that he’s been linked with me.
Okay, I admit I talk too much. I talk out of turn. I let my tongue run away with my mouth. So most people tend to misunderstand me. Bobby Deol, who’s like family, pulls me up whenever he sees me shooting my mouth off.
Quite a few magazinewallahs ask me if I’m wild. What does that mean? Why can’t they just let me be? If I’m having a cool time at a movie hall or a pub, dancing to music or watching soccer, what’s their problem?
I have loads of energy, I have a positive attitude. I will not change my life just because women in the industry are expected to behave in a certain manner.
My weakness is that I’m a scatterbrain. Also I hate waking up early in the morning. And I think my worst trait is my temper. When I’m angry, instead of words I use my fists.
I was offered this big film with this actor who has a reputation of being obnoxious. I immediately conveyed my apprehensions to the director. I will not pander to anyone’s ego. I’m here to act, not suck up to heroes. No one messes with me.
Maybe my overbearing attitude intimidates men. Perhaps that’s why I don’t have a boyfriend yet. Relationships are too complicated, man. They’re too demanding.
To act, you must know pain. You must know what it means to be in love, what it means to be rejected.
Acting can truly take a toll on your nerves. I mean we have to be larger than life. Worse, I’ve seen actors acting off the sets too.
You know what’s the worst part about being an actress? It’s the pressure to look gorgeous all the time and to behave perfectly. But I’m not perfect, nobody is
